Setting your new app as designated for kids

In order to set your new app as designated for families, click on My Apps located on the left-hand menu:

Then, click on Add New App located on the right-hand menu:

Next, there are two options:

  • Your app is in Google Play Store or iTunes App Store: Add the URL of your app to the App URL field and the remaining App Details will be added automatically.
  • Your app is in a third-party store: You will need to fill in your app name and choose the relevant app platform.

Then, in both cases, click on the Is your app designated for kids? checkbox. Please note that you need to use the Android SDK version above 3.8.4 in order for your app to be served. Apps that have older SDK versions will not be served.

Setting your existing app as designated for kids

To set your existing app as designated for kids, click on My Apps located on the left-hand menu:

Choose the app you wish to edit and click on the pen icon:

You are now able to edit the App Name, App URL and designation for kids. Just click on the checkbox and your app will be set as designated for kids. Please note that you need to use the Android SDK version above 3.8.4 in order for your app to be served. Apps that have older SDK versions will not be served.

After you have completed all the changes, click the checkmark icon on the right-hand side to update the changes. If you wish to cancel your edit, click the X icon.

 

CONTENT AND MATURITY FILTERS

Please note that marking your app as designated for kids will apply maturity and content filtering on your app, and all compliance requirements will be applied (Android Developer Blog).
